Introduction & launch of Åsne Kummeneje Mellem´s new catalogue about the artist´s work on käsityö – Kven handcraft
Slampoetry: “Ei saa peittää”. It is a long poem specially written for Sør-Varanger and the Kven pride prelude, by author Kjersti Feldt Anfinnsen with music by Petter Pogo!
Studid Art – a performative kitchen performance!
A sparkling artist talk with Åsne Kummeneje Mellem including improv theater, cooking and a joint dinner with the performers and the audience – and where studpid questions are welcome!
Following the dinner, DJ Saunasatan will kickstart the Barents Pride party under the slogan: Ei saa peittää – don’t cover up!

Kjersti Anfinnsen is a writer, dentist and DJ. Anfinnsen has attended the Writers’ Study in Tromsø and the Skrivekunstakademiet in Hordaland. In 2012, she debuted with the novel It was green at Kolon forlag. The novel De siste kjærtegn was published in 2019. For this, Anfinnsen received the Subjektprisen, the Havmannprisen and Bokhandelen’s writer’s grant. In 2021, the sequel Moment for eternity was published, for which she was nominated for the eu award. The last two novels are in the process of being translated into ten languages.
Petter Pogo is a Norwegian musician who has played in a number of bands in Bodø and Oslo. He was a permanent bass player in Jokke & Valentinerne, and after Joakim “Jokke” Nielsen died, he joined the tribute band Valentourettes. Pogo also has 2nd place in the NM in air guitar.

Åsne Kummeneje Mellem is a visual artist who uses contemporary art as an arena to explore her Kven identity and belonging. She currently has the exhibition Oppiit/Omateko at Terminal B, which runs until 23 September.

Dj Saunasatan (Kjersti Anfinnsen) is an experimental exploration of Kven identity under the slogan: Ei saa peittää! Do not cover! It is about visible diversity in society and for the individual. Dj Saunasatan curates the sound of Nordkalotten, from Karelian throat singing to Tornedal folk music, from Finnish funk to Kari Bremnes, Mari Boine and Kuuk, a boundless soundscape with several ethnicities and languages, a life-affirming, genre-crossing and diverse mix.
