Pikene på Broen ønsker alle velkommen til åpning av utstillingen Biblio Nordica! ‘Kunstnerboken’ er i sentrum for utstillingen som er et samarbeid mellom kunstnere fra Finland, Russland, Canada og Norge.
I 2019 inviterte Vyhod mediasenter i Petrozavodsk en gruppe kunstnere – som alle bor i det globale nord – til å lage en samling kunstnerbøker som skulle reflektere rundt verdenssyn og fellesskap i denne geografiske ytterkanten.
Utstillingen presenterer ideer om mangfold (gjennom form, forholdet mellom form og innhold, gjennom tekst og konkrete materialer, samt forfatternes egne visjoner). Samtidig gir verkene en kommentar til posisjonen ‘kunstnerboken’ har i samtidskunsten, så vel som de ulike formene for ‘lesning’ som finner sted gjennom møter i galleriet.
Utstillingen er en del av et bevegelig bibliotek i 2021, ble først stilt ut i Möhkönvirta (Ilomantsi, Finland), før den nå stilles ut på Terminal B i Kirkenes hvor den sammenfaller med litteraturfestivalen Finnlitt i oktober.

Pikene på Broen are delighted to welcome everyone for the opening of the exhibition Biblio Nordica at Terminal B. The exhibition is centered around the artist book and is a collaboration between artists from Finland, Russia, Canada and Norway.
In late 2019, Vyhod Media Center in Petrozavodsk invited a group of artists – each living in the global North – to create a collection of artist books as a way of building images and reflections about a certain worldview and commonality present in the outer reaches of this hemisphere.
The exhibition deals on one hand with the task of presenting ideas of diversity (through form, the relationships between form and content, through concrete and textual materials, as well as through the individual visions of the authors). On the other hand, the works provide a comment upon on the position of the ‘artist book’ within the contemporary art context, as well as the different forms of ‘reading’ that take place through encounters in the gallery setting.
The exhibition has become part of a moving library in 2021, being exhibited first in Möhkönvirta (Ilomantsi, Finland) before making its way to Terminal B in Kirkenes (7.10 – 20.11), where it will coincide with Finnlitt litterature festival (28.10 -30.10).
