Welcome to the exhibition opening of Jernverk by Marit Landsend at Terminal B Kunsthall Kirkenes.
The power of iron lies in its dual nature. It is a key element that sustains life by transporting oxygen in the human body, yet also plays a crucial role in the production of weapons. Iron both gives and takes life—reflecting the complexity within us as human beings. Inspired by the potential of this metal, the exhibition showcases poetic and tactile works in ceramics and found materials, alongside a newly produced art film.
Marit Landsend’s artistic practice explores the balance between the earthly and the ethereal, and between physical presence and the invisible inner life. As a ceramicist, Landsend works with transforming various materials from the earth, with the intention of creating a fusion between herself and the materials.
We invite you to join us for refreshments, and the artist herself will be present to share more about the exhibition. We are pleased to have author Mari Andreassen reading her poetry for the occasion.
The exhibition is supported by Kulturdepartementet, Kulturdirektoratet, Fritt Ord, Finnmark fylkeskommune, Troms fylkeskommune, Nordland fylkeskommune og BarentsKult
