Come to cook, eat and share your granny’s recipes at Terminal B on Friday April 25 at 18:00.
Gulnara Iskakova and Prokhor Gusev invite you to join a cooking workshop on one of the dishes that would be presented at Grandma’s recipes performance the next day. Gulnara will introduce her grandmother’s recipe for Beshbarmak, a traditional dish of Turkic peoples – boiled lamb meat and dough with onion sauce.
Gulnara will talk about how to choose lamb, how to prepare the broth, how to make the special dough for beshbarmak, and what tyzlyk (тызлык) is and how to make it. She will share some Turkic dining traditions – how hands are washed, how tea is chosen and served.
N.B. While cooking at the workshop, share some stories about your favourite grandparents’ recipes and why they are special to you.
