24. februar til 1. mars inviterer Pikene på Broen til den 19. utgaven av Barents Spektakel i Kirkenes!
Barents Spektakel er en internasjonal festival hvor samtidskunst, debatt, musikk, teater, forestillinger og en konseptuell festivalbar blir til en en møteplass for alle med interesse for kunst, kultur og samfunnsdebatt i Barentsregionen.
I 2022 var festivaltema formulert som et spørsmål: Where do we go from here? Under Barents Spektakel 2023, utforsker vi ett av mange mulige svar gjennom tema: TRUST. Hvilken rolle spiller tillit i tida vi gjennomlever nå, ei tid hvor vi som samfunn må håndtere økte kostnader på mat og energi, reagere på en klima- og miljøkrise, samtidig som navigerer på verdens stadig vaklende geopolitiske underlag?
Gjennom en rekke kunstproduksjoner, et åpningsshow og samtaler skal vi gjennom Barents Spektakel 2023 forsøke å besvare noen av disse spørsmålene.

Between the 24. February and 1. March 2023, Pikene på Broen will stage the 19th edition of Barents Spektakel in Kirkenes, Norway – an international festival consisting of contemporary art, theatre, music, debates, film, performances and a bar concept! Through these different elements the festival will again become a meeting place for everyone with an interest in the cultures and contemporary issues related to the high north.
In 2022 the festival theme formed a question: Where do we go from here? For Barents Spektakel 2023 we aim to discover some answers through the exploration of one deceptively simple concept: TRUST. What role does trust play in the contemporary moment, as our societies attempt to deal with the rising costs of food and energy, as they navigate the climate crisis, and as they approach the planet´s continuing geo-political uncertainty?
In response to some of these questions, Barents Spektakel 2023 will stage a series of artworks, discussions and a spectacular opening show!
