Welcome to MASSE MÅSEMAS – a seagull seminar!
Seagulls are disappearing or arriving in droves as refugees to cities and towns in the north. Many are irritated by the seagull swarms and want them gone. What is happening? Why are they coming and what can we do to help them?

Summary by Eva Bakkeslett
Eva Bakkeslett is an artist, curator and cultural activist. Through her work, she communicates connections between humans, nature and culture as a living organism. Communication across species boundaries, bacterial cultures and fermentation as a process and metaphor are central and are communicated in the form of socially engaged and inclusive projects. In recent years, she has immersed herself in the bird world and initiated the Nordic project The Conference of the Birds, which is an interdisciplinary and socially engaged art project that explores creative ways to coexist with birds in a more than human world. She has an MA in Arts & Ecology from Dartington College of Arts in England. Eva runs a cultural farm with guest studios and an AiR program based on ecological thinking and action on Engeløya in Nordland.

Oppsummering v/ Eva Bakkeslett
Eva Bakkeslett er kunstner, kurator og kulturaktivist. Gjennom sine arbeider formidler hun sammenhenger mellom mennesket, naturen og kulturen som en levende organisme. Kommunikasjon på tvers av artsgrenser, bakteriekulturer og fermentering som prosess og metafor står sentralt og formidles i form av sosialt engasjerte og inkluderende prosjekter. De siste årene har hun fordypet seg i fugle verden og initiert det nordiske prosjektet The Conference of the Birds, som er et tverrfaglig og sosialt engasjert kunstprosjekt som utforsker kreative måter å sameksistere med fugler i en mer enn menneskelig verden. Hun har en MA i Arts & Ecology fra Dartington College of Arts i England. Eva driver en kulturgård med gjesteatelier og AiR program fundert i økologisk tenking og handling på Engeløya i Nordland.
