Photographer and filmmaker Victor Frankowski continues his research in the north during his latest residency journey with Pikene på Broen.  His projects explore the industrial identity of the Barents Region and “play on the theme of tourism and media representation of the arctic.”

He is also building a catalogue of urban experiences in Arctic towns through an ambitious long-term project that will act as a “visual urban survey of industrialised Arctic towns and changes experienced in them due to globalisation, migration and climate change.”  This project is a long-term undertaking with journies through the Arctic a 5-year intervals.

Frankowski has made multiple trips to the north, on this journey he travelled from Kirkenes to Murmansk then on to the industrial centre of Monchegorsk.
