Murmansk and the Borderland Today and Tomorrow

15 April 2011, Murmansk, Nordic Days 2011

In the light of new border agreements, new global logistics and closer cooperation between the Barents countries, we invite you to a discussion about the present and the future of the border region in general and Murmansk in particular – and, why does Murmansk attract and inspire internationally renowned artists to produce artworks here? Norwegian artists Morten Traavik and Knut Åsdam meet public personalities from Murmansk – Victoria Chachina and Dmitry Borovkov.

We will hear traditional lappish joik and own compositions from Ulla Pirttijärvi & Ulda from Finland, and party-joik from the Norwegian band rOlfFa.
