Today, after fourteen years at Storgata 8, we finished packing and moving out.
We have called the little red house next to the Kimek hanger home and written much of Pikene’s history between its walls – from spontaneous parties and creative discussions with artists from all over the world, to marathon meetings and all night work sessions; from small concerts and impromptu performances, to artist presentations and lively discussions; plus countless hours working to produce both large and small cultural productions in the Barents Region.
It is time for Pikene på Broen to move on and we are excited for the next chapter in our history. Our new office, workshop and exhibition space in the middle of Kirkenes’ pedestrian street will be full of all the things that made our last office great, along with more space and more visibility for the cultural projects we produce, host and promote.
To everyone who has worked with us, all the artists we have hosted and cooperated with, all our supporters and sponsors and all those who have dropped by for lunch or to say hi over coffee – thank you for making Storgata 8 such a lively, fun and energetic place to work.
Special thanks to our landlord Kimek, who have been supportive and understanding all these years.
