Creating Cultural Capital - a Council of Europe Project

The International Seminar will contribute to developing the CCC Project in the Barents Region and will stimulate international cooperation with Eastern Europe. It will work around three objectives:
• To consider the kinds of networks and advocacy programmes the CCC Project can put in place to assist local level cultural producers develop broader contacts and intercultural markets across the region.
• To consider how the CCC Project can help to coordinate regional cultural projects; to develop data bases for creative industries and tourism sector; to assist in developing regional and European networks of creative city leaders and projects; to assist in promoting intercultural projects.
• To consider how the CCC Project Cultural Portal can work to provide the cultural sector with an effective electronic network.

The Council of Europe International Seminar, Creating Cultural Capital (CCC), is held in the context of the Barents Spectacle, 22. – 25. of Juanuar 2004. The seminar is arranged in collaboration with the Barents Secretariat, Sør-Varanger Municipality, and with support from Finnmark County Council.
Participants will be drawn from: Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Serbia and Montenegro and the United Kingdom.
