    We have called the little red house next to the Kimek hanger home and written much of Pikene’s history between its walls – from spontaneous parties and creative discussions with artists from all over the world, to marathon meetings and all night work sessions; from small concerts and impromptu performances, to artist presentations and lively discussions; plus countless hours working to produce both large and small cultural productions in the Barents Region.

  • Pikene på Broen Contributors at the First Arctic Arts Summit in Harstad

    Pikene på Broen is pleased to be contributing to the program of the Arctic Arts Summit in Harstad on the 21st and 22nd of June. The 2017 Arctic Arts Summit is the first ever summit and conference where all eight Arctic countries participate in highlighting circumpolar arts and culture. Along with ministers and politicians from all the Arctic countries who will present thoughts on how they read the Arctic culture and the Arctic art scene today. The Arctic Arts Summit will feature a wide range of thematic sessions hosted by Arctic arts institutions and organisations.

  • Work Continues on Pikene på Broen’s New Showroom in Kirkenes’ Pedestrian Street

    Anders Eik Pilskog and Jan Gunnar Skjeldsøy from architecture firm Stiv Kuling have been working with Pikene på Broen to create a space that reflects local society – industry meeting community and nature. Materials such as steel and concrete are balanced with timber and wool with large street facing windows and interior glass providing natural light to the space. The architects have worked with Pikene på Broen in the past, producing a project for the 2013 Barents Spektakel.

  • Slovakian Border Cooperation Delegation Visits Pikene på Broen

    The Slovakian delegation from Project Zip visited Pikene på Broen for an informal presentation and lunch meeting. Project Zip is cooperation project between Sloavaki and Ukraine and operates under that tag lined “Zipping and Innovating the Development Planning of the Cross-Border Slovak-Ukrainian territory”.
